Berra and Rizzuto Bowling Lanes was a popular 40-lane bowling alley in the Styertowne Shopping Center in Clifton, New Jersey, owned by New York Yankees legends Yogi Berra and Phil Rizzuto. Opened in 1958, the establishment featured modern amenities for the time, including automatic pin setters, a restaurant called "The Dugout", a cocktail lounge known as "The Stadium Lounge" (shaped like Yankee Stadium), a snack bar, and a playroom.
The bowling alley was a significant and well-attended business in the community. Berra and Rizzuto were reportedly hands-on owners, with family members involved in the day-to-day operations. The location was chosen strategically at the beginning of a bowling boom in the United States and was a draw on its own, adding to the allure of the Styertowne Shopping Center.
Berra and Rizzuto eventually sold the lanes in the mid-1960s, reportedly to their brothers. It was later rebranded as Astro Bowl, remaining in business under that name until it closed in 1999. The building was subsequently divided into retail space. The Michaels arts-and-crafts store in the Styertowne Shopping Center now occupies the building, and it includes a shadowbox display that pays homage to the original Berra and Rizzuto Bowling Lanes.
