"Fire Starter" is a bright, abstract, acrylic finger painting full of fiery colour and depicting the full destructive force of a fire breathing dragon. Although this artwork is straight from my imagination, I am inspired by the great beasts of fantasy fiction, from Tolkien to George RR Martin, as well as one of my favourite bands, Twilight Force. Dragons inspire both awe and fear and are ancient creatures of legend in many cultures around the world.

I painted this on a 5x7 inch, double gesso primed canvas board, using the following Daler Rowney Graduate Acrylic paints (in order of application in the video): Violet, Coeruleum Blue, Permanent Rose, Titanium White, Cadmium Red Hue and Primary Yellow.
