The Chinese Kung Fu Spear is no exception to this and spears have existed in China for over a thousand years. Attached between the metal spear head and the wax wood staff is the Chinese Spear Tassel, also commonly called Horse hair. These days actual Horse Hair is very uncommon and synthetic nylon Horse Hair is the norm.
