Plot Summary
The story revolves around Rohit Kumar Saxena, a middle-class young man who falls in love with the wealthy and lovely Reshmi. Despite opposition from Reshmi's father, Diwan Sardarilal, they get married. Shortly after their marriage, Reshmi wins a beauty pageant and decides she doesn't want the baby, leading to a quarrel and separation. Rohit becomes a station master at a remote hill station and tries to win back Reshmi's love by accumulating wealth. However, he gets arrested for stealing a suitcase full of jewelry and is charged with the murder of the suitcase owner, Sonia. Rohit's dream of reuniting with Reshmi seems unattainable.
