Video shows the moment Saudi inspection teams raided a warehouse in Jeddah where a group of Asian workers were involved in producing and selling counterfeit smartphones and electronic accessories.
During the raid, authorities seized 1,196 fake smartphones that had been reprogrammed and labeled with well-known brand logos to make them appear original. The teams also confiscated over 322,000 counterfeit products, including:
Smartwatches
Fake AirPods and earphones
Chargers and cables
Stickers, labels, and packaging materials
Boxes prepared for distribution
According to the Ministry of Commerce, the workers inside the warehouse were using Chinese-made phones, altering software and applying fake branding to sell them as premium devices in the local market. The seized items were fully documented on video, showing large stacks of phones, accessories, and repackaging tools.
Authorities stated that the case falls under the Anti-Commercial Fraud Law, which can carry penalties of up to 3 years in prison and fines that may reach 1 million SAR, in addition to deportation for foreign workers involved.
The ministry confirmed that inspections will continue across the Kingdom to combat counterfeit products and protect consumers from fraudulent electronics.
