This video is part One for the repair titled " How to Replace the Cylinder Heads on Dodge 4.7 L SOHC Engine".
The Vehicle used for this video is a 2002 Dodge Durango 4wd equipped of course with a 4.7 Liter Engine.
This Engine is very common and is usually found on other vehicles like: Dodge RAM Pick-up Trucks, Dodge Dakota Pick-up Trucks and it can also be found on Jeep Grand Cherokee.
The reason why we needed to break this job into several videos is to keep them short and minimize any buffering time when you watch them.
In this video Chris shows how to remove the Coolant Recovery tank which it also serves as upper fan shroud in this type of vehicle, how to remove the secondary Electric Fan and the lower section of the Fan Shroud, how to remove the Fan/Fan Clutch Assembly, how to remove the Air Intake Housing, how to remove the Alternator.
We will continue showing you how to finish removing the Cylinder Heads and How to Install them back on once they have been Repaired by your local Machine Shop in the upcoming videos.
It wasn't mentioned on the video because it is common sense but just in case for the inexperience viewers don't forget to disconnect the negative battery cable before you start doing this repair.
