Today the piano has a bit more weird sound. And 2 sleepy souls after a long day of socializing and work. However I have a powerful piano II ;)
A steady performance is attributed to my sturdy and persistent piano II! As a result this take has a different flavour than a few days ago. He really knows my problems ;)
This is more of a serious side of me this time, not like the flamboyant me a few days ago. Because I don't need to give as many cues, now this is the time of self-reflection.
So this is another form of collaboration - piano II knowing what you can do and not do and help you conform to the reality, the physical principles of sound.
Here goes the fantasy-like concerto:
1st movt - the separation
Piano II favours a more expressive and laid back approach. This has also affected me to be more thorough in every keystroke, e.g. ~ 1:24. but I am an impatient person... ;)
1st expo - because of a more steady tempo, the themes are more pronounced, and the left hand running arpeggios can have space for their own shape. The rit can also be more thoroughly digested.
development - 4:36 I am more confident about looking more into the depth due to the steady flow of the orchestra. The octave blows also have more room for breath, and when proceeding back to the theme, I also have more room to pull and push those chromatic passages.
11:11 - the Eb is attributed to Argerich - I really like her way of stressing that Eb ;)
Cadenza - sad I suddenly got overwhelmed by my own expression and got a weird hiccup as I was immersed with the organ-pedal like octaves lol
2nd movt - the lovebirds (probably imagined)
I would say this 2nd movt is like a loving conversation between the lovers, with lots of affection and tenderness and care.
14:43 - if the piano II chord is more loving that would better ;)
15:25 - piano II says hey there is fp and then p. so this is my first time finally doing it lol (my second big problem - always overlooking rules)
18:24 - yes yes fp and p...piano II has nagged me multiple times xD
3rd movt - the reunion
20:23 I especially love the fact that I can reconcile with piano II the bridge (as I end he begins)
21:53 my new found interest is to hear the bass, then the B, C#, D every bar on the right hand. I think it really helps to build up the atmosphere.
it seems that it's usually the development where I start to want to get faster in general. This part was not aligned with the steady....steady orchestra xD
24:16 was where I wanted to get the dominance back...
25:xx for this part if I listened more to the nuances among the V-I it would probably help more with the shaping, breath and steady flow of the piece.
26:52 sorry orchestra that I caught you unprepared for this tempo :')
27:15 but I insisted on this tempo. I think it's more exciting to keep up a little bit by bit! Nevertheless a concerto is a collaboration so I listen very carefully to my piano II while trying to push a little bit and a little bit more when possible.
The coda in general should be an exclamatory remark and conclusion to the whole fantasy, so I do intend to push it a bit further for that overjoy when finally reuniting with the one you love.
