This video shows the rubbing process- I happen to be working around a circular resist. this is the pattern or template I use when I wet-felt my toadstools... or Christmas puddings.
You begin by cutting your resist pattern. lay fibre ( 2 layers on the front), sandwich in bubble wrap and flip like a pancake! now tuck the fibre around the resist. Lay 2 layers on the back, sandwich, flip, tuck... you have laid a perfect circle of fibre, front and back... and now you begin to rub... first on the outside of the plastic, and when safe to do so moving on to working directly on the fibre... rub rub rub. You will feel the flat circle begin to shrink creating a pocket ( like a naan bread)... keep going... you decide how/ when and how big to cut your fibre and remove your resist...
