🚇 Only marginally faster than local train! The "express" train on Shenzhen Metro Line 14

Shenzhen Metro Line 14 is a 120km/h fully automated fast metro line, and is the first metro line in Shenzhen to have express trains, and there are three types of express trains. The most common type is the hourly express train from Shatin to Gangxia North which skips 4 stations, the other one is the late night express train from Gangxia North to Shatin which skips 6 stations, and the once per early morning express train from Shatin to Gangxia North semi-direct train. As there are no passing loops on Line 14, it is very easy for express trains to catch up with the trains in front of it. As a result, express trains can only run a few minutes faster than local trains. The effect of express trains on reducing commuting time is not that significant.

深圳地鐵14號線是一條120km/h的全自動駕駛快速地鐵，也是深圳首條設有快車的地鐵路線，共有3種快車，最常見的是每小時沙田至崗廈北不停4站的大站快車，另外是接近末班車才有的崗廈北至沙田不停6站的大站快車，以及清晨只有一班的沙田至崗廈北準直達車。由於14號線沒有任何避讓設施，所以快車很容易追上前面的列車，導致快車只能快數分鐘，快車的對減少通勤時間的作用並不是那麼大。
