MTA Bus Company: Queens Division



Earlier this week, MTA Bus Company made history.
On July 18th 2023, Nova Bus LFS Diesel 8964 was delivered to Zerega Facility in The Bronx which stayed there up until August 3rd 2023, where it was delivered to Baisley Park.

*Beforehand it made a slight apperance at Eastchester Depot in the Bronx

For the whole month of August, 8964 has been doing training out of Baisley Park and within that time, four units have been delivered to Baisley Park. Those units being 8990, 8996, 9000, & 9001.

On August 30th 2023, 8964 entered service on the Q112 during the AM Rush, welcoming the very first Low Floor Series Nova into MTA Bus Company for service.

This is the first time in 29 years that a Diesel 40-foot bus has been assigned to Baisley Park
The last time a Diesel 40 footer debuted out of the depot when it was formally called Jamaica Bus Lines, when they had the TMC-RTS's numbered between (3830-3848). This not only the first LFS to be out of MTA Bus but is also the first time a Nova has ran out of MTA Bus since the Novabus RTS lineup.

On September 1st 2023, Nova Bus LFS Diesel 8996 entered service on the Q113 LIMITED, which was very interesting to me because the Q113 is one of my favorite Baisley Park routes due to its fast speeds on different sections but also because the Q113 is an Articulated route, mainly running the 2016 New Flyer XD60's and ocassionally the Orion VII Old Gens & Hybrids. So when I heard this unit was running I took my chance and the bus and the operator didn't disappoint me.

𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲: This audio recording was recorded from 8996's deadhead from Far Rockaway-Seagirt Boulevard to Baisley Park Depot, which is why there's no other background noise.


Besides from that I hope yall enjoy this video, I'm generally proud of how this audio recording went for me.
