We paid a historic visit to the ancient palace of the late His Royal Highness, Eze (Dr.) Sylvester Onu Egwunwoke, M.O.N, the revered Eze Oha’l of Ihitaoha Uratta, an iconic traditional ruler, visionary entrepreneur, and distinguished elder statesman.

During our tour, we explored his palace and also visited the headquarters of Onu Egwunwoke Motors in Owerri, a business empire established in the 1970s and still functioning till today an enduring legacy of excellence and discipline.

His Royal Highness practiced “Aku ruo ulo” bringing wealth and development back home. He invested massively in his community by building filling stations, companies, schools, and providing pipe-borne water to Akwuakwuma, improving the quality of life of his people. He was also the pioneer who brought Sacred Heart Parish, Akwuakuma, strengthening both spiritual and social foundations of the community.

Eze Onu Egwunwoke was truly an elite traditional ruler, whose influence went far beyond his kingdom. His remarkable public service included:
