सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने ममता बनर्जी से जवाब मांगा. ED की रेड में दखलंदाजी के केस में नोटिस भेजा. नोटिस पश्चिम बंगाल के पुलिस अफसरों को भी भेजा गया. सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने कहा कि इस मामले के जो फैक्ट सामने आए हैं उन्हें देखकर पहली नजर में लगता है कि केन्द्रीय जांच एजेंसी के काम में जानबूझ कर बाधा डालने की कोशिश की गई और ये गंभीर मामला है, इसलिए इस पर विचार जरूरी है. ED ने कोल स्कैम के केस में 8 जनवरी को कोलकाता में IPAC के ऑफिस और प्रतीक जैन के घऱ पर रेड की थी. रेड के वक्त बंगाल के DGP समेत तमाम अफसर पहुंच गए.

The Supreme Court stated that the facts of the case, as presented, suggest a deliberate attempt to obstruct the work of the central investigating agency, and that this is a serious matter requiring consideration. The ED had conducted raids on January 8th at the IPAC office and the residence of Prateek Jain in Kolkata in connection with a coal scam case. Several officers, including the Bengal DGP, arrived at the scene during the raid.
