On 11 May 2016, Tzu Chi Da Ai Gallery was officially inaugurated under the witness of Dharma Masters from Taiwan Jing Si Abode and many Tzu Chi volunteers.
Dharma Master De Rang:This is very technologically advanced. Our ceilings are able to speak the dharma, our small walls with the small decorations are done with plenty of heart, so I feel that this place is filled with many precious Tzu Chi treasures and Tzu Chi’s tripitaka.
Da Ai Gallery Supervisor Seow Beng Lan:Look at this sickle, its color has already faded but it is what our resident masters was holding in their hands while under the sun hoeing those weeds. So it is this sense of realism which we hoped to bring it to our Daai Gallery.
Although the pictures and texts are vivid but when matched with real objects, they become more immersive. The Daai Gallery has been fully immersed in the Dharma, and you will be able to come into contact with the Dharma no matter what you touch, where you step on, or where your eyes look.
Daai Gallery Tour Guide Cham Toon Chok:Upon entering the door, you can see the bamboo bank which signifies doing great good with small donations. There is also a handful of rice sprinkled on the ground, we will then introduce the story behind and explain the philosophy of honesty and faithfulness. In fact, right beside this, there is a rice piggy bank, which introduces the idea of eating till 80% full and helping others with the remaining 20%.
Tzu Chi Malaysia(KL&Selangor) Deputy Chief Executive Richard Sio:Through using another way to present the physical and real stories of great love. I believe that everyone who visit will be very moved.
Taiwan Representative in Singapore Francis Liang:Most people are able to understand that Tzu Chi has many missions but when presented in these three rooms, we can tell that it is not easy.
For more than five years, Daai Gallery has received countless visitors. Those who walked in have all been able to resonate with the good.
Visitor:Regardless of race, after we have made donations, we have to show respect, this is also a good form of education.
Visitor:You do good deeds not for the sake of showing how good and capable you are. It’s a way of showing compassion. You would also want someone to help you when encountering a problem. When you see others needing help, will you also be able to take the initiative to reach out a helping hand.
Visitor:Like the bamboo coin bank savings is a splendid idea. You give us what you save daily, you go to market with ten dollars, you put fifty cents into the bamboo coin bank. That’s the kind of money we want, that’s what really impressed me.
Visitor:I am a Muslim. After the talk, they did not force us to become Buddhists. They want us to volunteer and have a big heart around us. That is very wonderful.
Sister Mary Wong:It is very inspiring. What your Master teaches is what all Christians and all religions teach. The cycle of love, compassion, and mercy. It is not doing a lot of things, it is doing if you really want to do. If you understand the teachings of your Master, you want to put it into practice, not for others, but for yourself.
Sri Lankan Master Bhante K Gunaratana:Although I am not a member or a founder of it, I find that it is a great thing doing universally. From the bottom of my heart, I bless Tzu Chi’s objectives to be fulfilled.
The Da Ai Gallery, which combines technology and modern design, came to an end in October 2021. Its closure will not affect the passing on of the great love spirit. For people who have been impacted deeply, it is hoped that upon stepping out of the Gallery, each and every one of them will be able to translate their emotions into actions, thus allowing the ripples of goodness to continue spreading.
