About this video: Forge is one of the most popular Minecraft mod loaders, and shaders is the most popular Minecraft mod. Thus, it makes sense that you would want to use shaders with Forge mods, and this video shows you exactly how to do that!

To get started, you will need to download and install Forge normally. There are links to everything, including Forge, that we talk about in this video linked above. To download and install Forge, go to the link above, click “Download Forge”, and select the version of Forge you want shaders for. Then, click the “Installer” button, wait a few seconds, click “Skip Ad”, and Forge will begin downloading.

Now, we can download OptiFine. This is the mod that will allow shaders to work in game. You can find links to get OptiFine above. When downloading OptiFine make sure it is for the same Minecraft version as Forge. Then, click “mirror” next to that version and download it.

Next, open up the Minecraft Launcher and play Minecraft with Forge. From there, go to “mods” and click “mods folder”. Move the OptiFine file you downloaded here and close Minecraft reopening it with Forge again.

The last thing we need to do is get shader packs. There are tons of places to get these online, and you can add these by going to options, video settings, shaders. Then, drag and drop your shaders packs into this menu. It’s that easy to get shaders in Minecraft with Forge!
