Noam means “pleasure & prosperity” in Arabic and “gracious” in
Hebrew. The piece dives deeply into sensitive atmospheres, mixing the visceral and animalistic approach , as well as a research on
relativeness of masculine and feminine attributes in movement.
The artists want to discover a choreographic ground allowing the
bodies to create intimacy, without forming a romantic context.
A search for complicity between woman and man, and the sense of
fluidity in what may be expected of each gender.
Noam questions the relationship between body and society.
Can we think of the physical interactions in choreography independently from the social and day to day physical being?
Can we question identity, cultural conditioning and self-assertion,
regardless of the fact that these notions mainly depend on the form we decide to portray them? Do we even decide the way it is manifested in our lives?
The stage should be covered with a thin layer of soil, symbolising closure and returning home: “For you are dust, and to dust you shall return” (Genesis 3:19).
