As the news of the murder of Martin Luther King Jr. spreads like wildfire, riots and protests break out in over 125 U.S. cities. Mobs took to the streets looting stores and setting fires.
In Baltimore, Maryland, six people were killed and thousands arrested. Officials were forced to call out Army troops to quell the violence and restore peace in the city.
