"The Great Wall" (2016) opens with a group of European mercenaries led by William Garin (played by Matt Damon) and Pero Tovar (played by Pedro Pascal) as they venture into China in search of the secret of gunpowder.

After escaping bandits, they seek refuge at the Great Wall of China and are captured by the Nameless Order, an elite Chinese military force. While held at the Wall, they witness a horde of Taotie creatures attacking. The Nameless Order, with their skilled soldiers, defends the Wall and humanity.
