ON APRIL 23, 2025, Dr. George Thompson shared his insights regarding the 2023 Norfolk Southern freight train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio, in a public program at Homestead United Presbyterian Church in Homestead, PA.
The program was sponsored by Battle of Homestead Foundation, Breathe Project, Food & Water Watch, Izaak Walton League of America and Homestead United Presbyterian Church.
Dr. Thompson is an independent toxicologist with 55 years of experience in the field. He has authored 21 books on environmental safety and served as an expert witness in numerous lawsuits involving environmental negligence. He was the only chemist to examine the contents of every rail car involved in the East Palestine derailment.
