This one came to me with water damage and serious electrical problems. After many, many hours it has finally come into its own once again.
I can't thank my friends George, Keith, and Tom enough for their help with the electronics problems- I learned so much from this project! In the end, I rebuilt the power supply and replaced the bass channel output transformer with a very heavy duty unit. I am very pleased with the results.
I was able to restore the finish with hand polishing, it has the original finish which is in beautiful condition. Overall, this is a wonderful Rotosonic Leslie with four separate amplifiers inside. The switching was a bit tricky, but I figured out how to exploit all four different sounds available. This recording was made without external effects, the only active pedal in the signal path is a clean boost, as all tube Leslies require a hotter signal at their input. I have experimented with delay, reverb, chorus, overdrive, and a "BassBalls" pedal, the Leslie took them all in stride and never farted out... It just kept giving a full, musical tone. In the interest of showing the raw sound of this unit, I kept the signal straight and clean. Loving this one! ;)
