A TECTONIC SHIFT
In geology we learn that earthquakes are caused by the shifting of tectonic plates, massive slabs of solid rock that form the earth's crust and upper mantle. Essentially, these plates are floating on the superheated lower mantle, which means they are constantly in motion, though most of the time such movement is imperceptible. Occasionally that movement speeds up, releasing stored seismic energy - earthquake! John the Baptist's calls to repentance, if heard and acted upon, can become a spiritual "tectonic shift," and shake the world.
