"Notable Women in Hancock History" was presented as a live-stream Zoom event Thursday, April 30, 2020 by former Hancock mayor, John Haeussler, with moderator Faith Morrison. Mr. Haeussler presented photos and told stories of a small sampling of prominent women, all one-time residents of Hancock, Michigan. Leaders in the arts, athletics, business, education, health care, municipal service, and more, their influence extends throughout the world.
Originally scheduled as one of a series of talks co-hosted by the Carnegie Museum of the Keweenaw and riseUP Keweenaw Chapter to celebrate and commemorate the 100th anniversary of ratification of the 19th Amendment, due to COVID-19, the talk was rescheduled as a live-stream and recorded event only. Faith Morrison, member of riseUP and the League of Women Voters of the Copper Country, moderated and the far flung audience participated via Zoom chat. The presentation and questions afterward were recorded and are presented in this video.
