Stanford Solutions for Celiac Webinar with Dr Fernandez Becker

Dr. Nielsen Fernandez-Becker presented on November 18, 2022, about the NIAID-funded study, Solutions for Celiac. The event was co-hosted by the Celiac Community Foundation of Northern California, a nonprofit organization that offers support, education and advocacy.

This webinar-style presentation explains what’s involved in the Solutions for Celiac study, one of several celiac disease clinical trials currently being conducted at the center. The short presentation was followed by a live Q&A session with Dr. Fernandez-Becker and the study team.

This webinar is targeted toward those in the western United States, but is open to everyone, regardless of location, and regardless of whether you are a patient of Stanford Medicine or a member of the Celiac Community Foundation of Northern California.

Solutions for Celiac is a non-invasive research study for those with celiac disease. It involves an investigational medication in the form of a powdered drink, taken with each meal, and designed to potentially reduce the symptoms of accidental glutening. Dr. Nielsen Fernandez-Becker is the director of the Celiac Disease Program at Stanford and is highly experienced in diagnosis and management of celiac disease and gluten associated disorders. Her objective is to provide excellent and compassionate clinical care for her patients while seeking a better understanding of diseases that she treats, particularly celiac disease (CeD), and eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE). Her top priorities are patient care and translational research to make new discoveries and improve the care of patients.
