Musibikha Annet, the NRM Flag Bearer for the Woman MP seat in Manafwa District, has successfully completed the first phase of her parish-to-parish campaign, receiving strong support from communities across the district.
Residents in every area she visited warmly welcomed her, expressing appreciation for her engagement and willingness to listen to their concerns.
The campaign phase began in Kimaluli Sub-County and later extended to several other areas, including Masaka Town Council, Sibanga, Kaato, Nalondo, Khabutoola, and Bukoma. In each of these places, Musibikha was received with enthusiasm, compassion, and what supporters described as “a spirit of unity and hope for better representation.”
Residents noted that the reception she received reflected their desire for a leader who understands their challenges and remains present in the community. One supporter commented, “We have seen many leaders come and go, but what we look for is someone who understands us and stands with us when we need them.”
Throughout her engagements, Musibikha highlighted key issues she hopes to address, including improving education, strengthening health services, and supporting local SACCOs. Residents openly shared with her the day-to-day challenges affecting their communities, particularly gaps in service delivery and slow progress in development projects. In response, she emphasized the need to improve road networks, construct reliable bridges, and support poverty-reduction initiatives.
By the time she completed visits to all parishes in the seven sub-counties covered so far, supporters expressed confidence in her candidacy and their commitment to continue engaging with her. One resident remarked, “We have voted leaders before who never return after winning, but with you, we believe in consistency. We believe you will come back and address our concerns.”
Across the district, several residents described her as part of “a new generation of leaders” they hope to see serving Manafwa in the future.
Musibikha was accompanied throughout her campaign by members of the District Executive Committee of the NRM, who encouraged residents to support candidates who can effectively work with government programmes.
She is contesting alongside four other candidates: Hon. Rose Mutonyi, running as an independent; Irene Mutonyi of the FDC; and Kakayi Elizabeth, also an independent candidate.
