After exploring a bustling pasar malam in Singapore, we couldn’t resist crossing the Causeway to Johor Bahru in search of even more tantalizing night market treats. This time, we headed to the Taman Ungku Tun Aminah Saturday Night Market, the largest night market in JB, thanks to a recommendation from our amazing viewers.
And wow—this market was massive! We had to park 100 meters away just to get a spot. The atmosphere was electric, with vibrant stalls offering everything from fresh fruits and vegetables to daily essentials and, of course, an incredible variety of street food. The air was filled with mouthwatering aromas, laughter, and the sounds of sizzling grills.
This visit, I decided to capture the magic behind the scenes: the cooking process of some local favourites like fried carrot cake, crispy apam balik, sizzling teppanyaki, buttery popcorn, chewy snowball mochi, smoky satay, and golden prawn fritters. Of course, I couldn’t resist wandering through the rest of the market, soaking in the sights and sounds of this food lover’s paradise.
