PROJECT AMERICAN FORK | PART 4 "THE HISTORY"

Project American Fork, was a passion project and the first film I ever made about 9 years ago. I can't thank every single person who was apart of it enough and I know there were so many of you involved.

The film is about the birth place of steep sport climbing in the USA. Narrated by the the legends themselves, Boone Speed, Jeff Pedersen and Bill Boyle, who had developed the climbing in the canyon. With additional climbers like Joe Kinder, Ryan Stott, Eric Hörst, James Litz to name a few.

PART 1: CURSE WALL, high up American Fork canyon is a steep quartzite cliff band known as the Curse wall. Its worth the adventure.

PART 2: BLACK MAGIC AND UNDERDOG, the story of black magic, one of the best lines in the canyon and Underdog 5.13

PART 3: HELL CAVE, Hell area is when American Fork canyon started to take off and become known for its steep hard sport climbs.

PART 4: THE HISTORY, In the late 80's the World Cup was held at Snowbird Utah, Bringing all the worlds best to try out American Fork. JB and Didier from France came to Hell and gave the canyon their stamp of approval, Footage provided by Mike Call.

PART 5: THE CURRENT, with the ground work laid for the locals to enjoy the canyon the young guns are out and are now pushing the limits. Featuring Cameron and Jonathan Hörst and Nathaniel Coleman. Also, scenes with Mike Beck crushing Snaked from New York and James Litz on one of the hardest lines in the canyon, Fantasy Island 5.14b

At the time I had no idea what I was doing and was lucky enough to have some people believe in me. I wish I could re-tell the story now with the experience and gear I have now, but we'll just let this be and again Im so grateful for everyone who was apart of this film.
