I was really into kung fu and martial arts when I was younger and always wanted to visit the Shaolin temple. I actually achieved this goal on my previous 136 day road trip in China.
I drove from Handan to Dengfeng, which is the city adjacent to the Shaolin temple and Song Shan scenic area. Seeing it via helicopter is amazing as very few people have done this and I got to appreciate how big the area is.
Overall it's beautiful, like all of central China, and worth visiting!
