Hey goalies, this is Zach, in this video we're going to take a closer look at the new Vaughn LT 88 Ventus Leg Pads.

Clear from the start is that this is a tall pad, the LT 88 is very stiff to keep it's shape and cater to goalies with a wider butterfly. Similar to the LT 98 Vaughn has placed a single break below the knee on the outer roll offering a small amount of flex but keeping the upper portion sturdy for 5 hole coverage.

The LT 88 offers a precisely cut and fit foam core, multiple types of foam are placed in layers so as to optimize the pads performance durability and shape longevity.

Going to the back of the pad we will see some of the factors that make the LT 88 a loose fitting pad. Two nylon straps reside across the knee and there are 2 leather straps set over the calf.

The knee stacks are very wide to make it easier to create a solid seal to the ice.

the boot features a single leather strap and the toe tie features an offset hole to allow you to customize the feel of the pad on the ice.

The LT 88 is a good senior pro offering from Vaughn catering specifically to butterfly goalies. It is available in all senior sizes with a plus 2" thigh rise and in several color ways.
