15 Strict Rules Royal Couples Have to Follow

The Royal family may be able to break laws the rest of the world have to follow, but there are some rules and traditions they have follow, that commoners are either oblivious to or don’t even have to consider. Most of these rules come down to how these Royal couples conduct themselves in public and while doing their official duties, and especially in the presence of her majesty, the Queen.

And in that case, some rules make sense. Like the rule against public displays of affection, because who really wants to see the Royal family being overly affectionate while they’re at work. Of course, in more relaxed settings, they have been known to break this rule. Like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle always holding hands or Prince William and Kate Middleton sharing a rare kiss.

There’s also the dress code rule. There have been a number of controversial fashion moment for the women in the Royal family. To us may seem silly but, to the traditions of the royal family, are a big deal.
There are some other rules which seem a little outdated, like the fact that Queen had final say on who her grandchildren and children married. If she didn’t like them, by decree she could veto the union. Or the fact that the Queen approves all Royal wedding dresses before the big day just to make sure they keep with Royal protocols and dress codes.

This list of rules for Royal may seem like a lot, but these Royal couples are often breaking them. Sometimes rules are made to be broken.
