🏯 Wu Hou Temple of Chengdu (Wu Hou Shrine) is located at No.231, Wuhouci Street, Wuhou District, Chengdu. The whole museum covers an area of 37,000 square meters with a building area of 9,200 square meters. It is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.
✍️ HISTORY - Chengdu Wuhou Temple was built to commemorate Zhuge Liang in the late Western Jin Dynasty; it was adjacent to Zhaolie Temple of Liu Bei, which is the ancestor of the Shu Kingdom at the beginning; in the early Ming Dynasty, Wuhou Temple was merged with Zhaolie Temple, so the plaque of the gate was "Han Zhaolie Temple" Later, the Wuhou Temple dedicated to Zhuge Liang was merged into the Han Zhaolie Temple; in 1961, the museum was rated as one of the first cultural relics protection units in the country by the State Council; in 1984, the Chengdu Wuhou Temple Museum was established; in 2008, the museum was rated as a national First-class museum.
The Chengdu Wuhou Temple is the only ancestral temple in China where the monarchs and ministers are worshipped together, and the most prestigious memorial site of Zhuge Liang, Liu Bei and the heroes of the Kingdom Shu of Han, and with the reputation of "Three Kingdoms Holy Land".
