Mary Taylor Simeti is an American-born author, food writer, and historian renowned for her deep expertise in Sicilian culinary and medieval history, having moved to Sicily in 1962 and becoming a key figure in documenting its culture, food, and social life through books like Pomp and Sustenance and articles for the New York Times. She and her family own and run an organic farm in western Sicily, and she was also involved in Sicilian feminist publishing and social activism.
