Suruli Rajan, who was famous for his comedic roles, was born on January 14, 1938, in Periyakulam, Tamil Nadu. He became one of the most beloved comedians in Tamil cinema during the 1970s. His full name was Kumarasamy Rajendran, but he was popularly known as Suruli Rajan, taking his stage name from his place of birth, Suruli, which is close to the famous Suruli Falls.

Suruli Rajan was known for his distinct style of comedy, characterized by his unique voice and expressive body language. He often played the sidekick to the main heroes in Tamil movies. He shared the screen with big stars of his time, including MGR (M. G. Ramachandran), Sivaji Ganesan, Kamal Hassan, and Rajinikanth. Some of his notable films include "Bharatha Vilas," "Idhayakkani," "Annai Oru Aalayam," and "Ithikkara Pakki."

He was known to be humble and down-to-earth, deeply loved by his colleagues and fans.

There isn't much publicly available detailed information about Suruli Rajan's family. However, it is known that he had a family who faced difficulties, particularly after his untimely death on December 5, 1980, at the young age of 42.
