Wrapped for Release | Christmas Message
Restriction isn’t always punishment—sometimes it’s preparation.
Most Christmases, we rush past the small details.
We hurry to the angels.
We hurry to the shepherds.
We hurry to the joy.
But Luke slows us down…
And in doing so, reveals something we often miss.
“And this will be a sign for you…” — Luke 2:12
It wasn’t the star.
It wasn’t the town.
It wasn’t even the manger.
The sign was the clothes.
God rarely uses massive displays to reveal His glory.
More often, He speaks through details that only those who desire relationship will notice—
the quiet glances, the subtle signs, the moments that ask one simple question:
Am I worth paying attention to?
Jesus, the Savior of the world, entered history wrapped.
Not powerless—but restricted.
Not weak—but limited by choice.
God introduced freedom to the world wrapped in limitations.
Philippians 2:6–7
Jesus did not lose power—He voluntarily restrained its expression.
He did not stop being God.
He stopped insisting on the privileges of His divinity.
That’s why Scripture tells us Jesus grew—
in wisdom, stature, and favor.
Swaddling cloths weren’t accidental.
They were tight to protect, align, and strengthen—
restriction that produced growth.
All throughout Scripture, what God binds for a season, He releases with power:
Joseph was bound in prison
Moses was bound in a basket
David was bound in obscurity
Jesus was bound in cloths
What God wraps, He intends to release.
Jesus was wrapped at birth.
Wrapped again in death.
But when the tomb was opened—the clothes were left behind.
What once restricted Him could no longer retain Him.
And the same is true for you.
What feels like limitation may actually be alignment.
What feels like delay may be development.
You’re not stuck.
You’re being prepared.
2025 may feel like restraint—
but it’s preparing you for release.
The wraps are coming off.
What was hidden is about to move.
What was restrained is about to run.
You were wrapped—but you were wrapped for release.
