How to do Boiler Pilot Burner Maintenance

The pilot burner on an auxiliary boiler is a small flame that is continuously burning to ignite the main burner when needed. It is an important component of the boiler system as it ensures that the main burner can be easily and quickly ignited when heat is required. The pilot burner is typically fueled by natural gas,DIesel or propane and is designed to provide a steady and reliable flame. Regular maintenance and inspection of the pilot burner are necessary to ensure safe and efficient operation of the boiler.
here in this video Alborg type aux boiler pilot burner is removed for minthly maintenance routine. i made this video for educational purpose so that any seafarer understand the maintenance routine procedures to be done.
steps are as follows
with great care remove the electrode power supplies. disconnect three hoses such as Combustion air, Fuel hose and purge air hose.
remove the clip that holds the actuator with the pilot burner. then with great care lift the pilot burner and take it to the workshop table. place it carefully. open the sleeve by removing the allen screws by help of allen keys. remove the nozzle with help of spanner and keep it.
nozze has small 5 parts
plz check the video. disassemble them and clean with dry and clean air.
now time to check the electrode point where the spark is continuously there to ignite with the fuel. with zero paper clean it and wipe it with dry cloth and check the gap.
fit the nozzle back in the lace and connect a transformer kit which makes 220 volt to 15 KV.
check the spark and distance from the nozzle. adjust it if necessary. Then fit back at its place and connect the hoses and electric connections.
