This is the 1st part of the interior modeling tutorial series. Starting from the basics of the basics everything you would need to make an interior is shown here. Even a complete beginner to 3d will be comfortable to learn from this. And the best part is you would learn the basic functions of the software while making the interior itself.
The software used is blender, which is completely free software. All the basic functions including, the edit mode, transformations, view modes, modifiers is shown here.
