Brackman Trio | Piano Trio no.3 Nikolai Roslavets | Vrije Geluiden

In Amare (The Hague) the Brackman Trio performed the 3rd piano trio by the Russian composer Nikolai Roslavets "Discovering Roslavets" revolves around the music of Nikolaj Roslavets (1881-1944) and his intriguing life.
In this session we present the brand new winner of the Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik: the Brackman Trio.

Often referred to as 'The Schönberg of Russia', Roslavets pursued his own compositional pathway. For decades efforts have been made to erase his music from the musical canon. This trio from 1925, with fragments of late romanticism and atonality, perfectly bridges the gap between the first piano trio by 17-year-old Shostakovich and Verklärte Nacht by 25-year-old Schönberg.
