After 50K miles and with a bit of towing, it was time to change the transmission filter. I used an ATP filter kit and a little over 4 quarts of Toyota ATF-WS fluid ($10/US quart). Aisin makes a lot of transmissions for Toyota, so I'm sure their oil can be used too.
You will need to remove part of the sub frame to do this job. 4 large 17mm hex head bolts, 75 ft lbs torque. I did the job on ramps and nothing moved frame wise with the sub frame R&R, it steered fine afterwards, so I think it is OK to do.
I did replace all the plastic rivets with new ones as I bought a bag of 100 the last time I was working on a car, but if you can get the heads out of the old ones, they may be re-usable.
Watch out when removing the old filter - a bunch more oil drops out... be sure to have you drain pan centered under the suction port.
