Gardener Sally talks us through a new area of planting in our carpark at the entrance to the garden. Our pot display has recently been removed in a bid to reduce water use, and replaced with permanent planting in the ground. The naturally occurring sand and gravel hasn't been improved with organic matter like the Gravel Garden (just the other side of the hedge), so it will be interesting to see how the planting fares here without irrigation.
*to clarify, ALL new planting is watered in well at the time of planting.
List of plants used:
Rosa glauca
Coronilla valentina subsp. glauca 'Citrina'
Cistus parviflorus
Stipa gigantea
Euphorbia characias subsp. wulfenii
Nepeta racemosa 'Walkers Low'
Origanum laevigatum 'Hopley's'
Aquilegia vulgaris 'Heidi'
Aquilegia vulgaris 'Alba'
Alcea rugosa
Verbena bonariensis
Erigeron karvinskianus
