"UD Fight Song" | University of Delaware's Primary Fight Song

Today, Thursday, August 28th, 2025, Delaware will play their first ever football game against their in-state rival Delaware State, as members of Conference USA and members of the Football Bowl Subdivision (D1 FBS). To celebrate the start of a new chapter for the Blue Hens, here is the Delaware Fight Song.

The "UD Fight Song", also known as "Fight for Delaware", was written by George F. Kelly, class of 1915). It was unknown when Kelly wrote and composed the song, but it first appeared in the Student Handbook in 1933.

Today, the University of Delaware Marching Band plays the fight song to cheer on their Blue Hens on and off the stands, during athletic games, pep rallies, field shows, parades, and other school spirit performances.
