The last of the sculpting is finally done! Other then last minute touch-ups, this 3 headed dragon is ready to go into the oven. Then I'll do some light sanding and paint it using acrylic paints. Once that is done I'll seal it using Shellac to protect the paint.
During the part where I was working on the feet I noticed the sculpture sagging down and it had some cracks in the clay from the stress the excessive weight was causing. What I mean by cracks: Although its not baked, uncooked clay can lose its conditioning after it sits for a few hours causing it to "stiffen up" So any bending or other stress could cause it to crack. And this had been sitting for 3 months! No worries, I made a make-shift stand to support the weight and repaired the cracks by compressing them and filling them in with more clay.
Let me know what you think of this series as its almost done.. and what would you like to see in the next video? Sanding? Painting? I appreciate all who have followed the demonstration! Thank you for taking the time to watch and read this
