Amazon search terms are keywords that shoppers use to find products. Amazon’s A9 algorithm matches customer searches with the terms included in the product listing backend and compiles relevant products for search results. The backend search terms field is limited to 249 bytes excluding spaces and punctuation.
First and most important try to be relevant even: If you're selling a bed sheet set then don't use the word certain on the search terms. You can write the synonyms or what type of product that is. For example, you can write home decor or bedding accessories in the search terms. A sheet set is a home decor product as well as its bedding accessories. Always remember to stay on the character limits and don't provide excessively long content over 249 characters on the search terms.
In order for customers to find your products on Amazon, it’s important to provide Search Terms they might use when searching for what they want to buy.
Let’s start with what we should consider preparing Amazon search terms.
✅ Try to be Relevant
✅ Be technical
✅ Be careful not to use the misspelling
✅ Use a simple variation of the main keyword
✅ Do not enter any ASIN
✅ Don't include terms that are abusive or offensive in nature
✅ Avoid using Subjective claims
✅ Do not use Temporary statements such as “new,” or “on sale now. etc.
✅ Don’t need to use punctuation
✅ Don’t repeat words within the Search Terms field
✅ No need for stop words such as “a,” “an,” “and,” “by,” “for,” “of,” “the,” “with,” and so on
Secondly, be technical: Don't use the words already in the title, bullet points, or descriptions. You can use variations of spelling but be careful not to use misspellings. Let's talk about a few other things you should keep in your mind before preparing the search terms. Do not use your brand names or any competitors' brand names in the search terms. Go to amazon.com and search with your best keyword.
Then see the top three organic results.
Then copy the ASINs and now log into Helium 10.
Go to the tab cerebro and search the keywords for those ASINs.
This is one of the best ways to get the top relevant keywords. Click on the get keywords. Here are the results and see the results contain a lot of relevant keywords.
Let's sort it based on the high search volume.
This may contain some irrelevant keywords that we don't need.
Sort it again based on Cerebro's IQ score.
So, now here are all the relevant keywords with search volume. Now export the keywords to CSV or Excel. Let's sort these keywords based on position rank. So you have all the relevant search terms.
