JAY COOKE STATE PARK Hiking | Explore Minnesota

A state park that blows me away every time I visit is Jay Cooke State Park near Carlton, Minnesota! Visiting this park in fall time is the best and offers some excellent hiking. Jay Cooke has a beautiful swinging suspension bridge that crosses high above the raging St. Louis River. Many hiking trails begin near the suspension bridge and run along the river. The trails are well maintained and gives you views of the rugged land, massive rock formations and exposed tilted rocks throughout the river.

From the Carlton Trail to the Silver Creek Trail we’re hiking both directions along the St. Louis River and exploring Oldenburg Point for glorious aerial views over the St. Louis River valley.
