Episode 42 | Independence Day | Scenic Drive from Columbia to Boonville, MO via US-40 | July 4, 2025

Description:
Today we take an Independence Day drive to our beautiful and historic neighbor to the west: Boonville, Missouri. Our journey begins on Interstate 70, then veers off onto US Highway 40. Once in Boonville, we take Main Street from north to south, stop at the car wash, and return along the same route back to Columbia.

Back in Columbia, we pass our starting point and cross the city on I-70. Then we exit onto East Saint Charles Road and make our way to Broadway. From there, we head west across town, ending the journey.

It was another beautiful and sunny early summer day in Mid-Missouri, with just enough haze in the air to hint at the coming dog days. Our part of the country is often overlooked, but as I've said before—it's more than just flyover country!

Note:
I swapped out the polarizing filter today for a larger one that eliminates vignetting. While certain lighting conditions may cause the video to appear slightly darker, the overall benefit—no dashboard reflections in the windshield—makes it well worth it.
