WATCH: US Military Personnel and Vehicles Land on Puerto Rico Beach in Caribbean Operations

US military personnel and equipment came ashore in Puerto Rico on Friday, December 5, as part of ongoing operations in the Caribbean. Troops used Navy landing craft to unload vehicles and supplies onto El Faro beach in the southern town of Arroyo.

Operations began between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m., with service members arriving from a San Antonio–class amphibious transport dock belonging to the U.S. Marine Corps. The vessel is part of a group that has been stationed in the region for several weeks.

Footage showed landing craft approaching the coastline before amphibious vehicles, Humvees, heavy equipment, and supplies rolled onto the sand. Soldiers were seen unloading gear, organizing equipment, and conducting coastal movements.

Officials have not provided details about the materials being transferred to a military base on the island, and the U.S. has not commented on the purpose of the day’s activity. The landings follow continued elevated U.S. military presence in the Caribbean, including recent deployments of aircraft, naval vessels, and additional personnel.
