Ushguli , the land of Svans.

A above 2,309 meters above sea level, Ushguli is the highest continually inhabited place in Europe. This region of Svaneti is a land wrapped in myth - with its medieval defensive towers and local tribe with their own culture and Svan language. Its unique community pepper the grass plains below the shimmering ice of Shkhara Mountain like ancient relics strewn haphazardly amidst the Georgian Highlands. The enchanting river that cuts thru its mystical landscape lures the spellbound tourists to explore deeper as it has something more to unveil. This is my third time in Georgia but it seems like my first - Ushguli will always be a favorite; not just because of its magical charm, but also the memories it left behind. It is my Neverland - my happy thought.
