Campground Review | Kentucky Alleyne Provincial Park | Kentucky Campsite Tour

Kentucky-Alleynce Provincial Park is best known for its two beautiful clean turquoise lakes - Kentucky and Alleyne. Right in the heart of the cattle country, this green, open park is surrounded by Douglas Lake Ranch, Canada’s largest cattle ranch with a rich, 115-year history. In this video, we reviewed the Kentucky Campground which is situated beside the Kentucky lake. Hope this video helps you to understand the layout of the campground and check out the amenities before you book to a trip to this gem of an experience of camping in British Columbia.

How to get here:
The park is about 300km from Vancouver - 38km south of Merritt and 11km south of Aspen Grove, just off Highway 5A. It took us about 4 hours of drive from Vancouver through the beautiful Coquihalla pass.

Frontcountry Camping:
While there are a total of 87 campsites in Kentucky and Alleyne campgrounds, only 51 of them are reservable.

3. Campfire Ring
4. Pit Toilet
5. Boat Launch

Activities:
Kentucky and Alleyne Lakes are situated right in the heart of the cattle country, with rolling grasslands and host some pristine clear azure water you will see.

1. Hiking 🥾⛰️
There is a loop trail around Kentucky Lake which takes about 1.5 hours to complete and is very compatible with children as well.

2. Boating 🚣
There is a dedicated boat launch on both Alleyne and Kentucky Lakes. You can take your motorized boat (horsepower restriction applied), canoe, kayak or even paddleboard here.

3. Fishing 🎣
With a freshwater fishing license, you can definitely try your luck at both stocked lakes.

4. Swimming 🏊‍♂️
As much as we love swimming and the water looks enticing at both these lakes, the water is very cold. We also heard about leeches, however, did not see any!

5. Cycling 🚴
You can definitely bike around the area and the roads are generally safe.
