Hello All,

Every year in the UK we have a special day called the flying ant day. A Huge amount of flying ants appear all on the same day around different locations in the UK. This has become known as Flying Ant Day. Whilst flying ant day maybe a pest to most people, us ant keepers love it as we get the chance to find as many queen ants as possible in just one day. Usually, lasius niger and lasius flavus are responsible for flying ant day they come out in their millions. In this video, i go out into my back garden on flying ant day to catch some queen ants. I caught roughly about 27 queen ants during the flying ant day. Sorry if the camera is all over the place it was very hard to keep it steady whilst trying to capture queens.
