SMALL SCALE LOGGING TRAILER

I had a really nice, never used narrow torsion axle I got for cheap years ago and did nothing with it. I had a boat trailer i got for cheap (bent axle) for a project that fell through. After these items were sitting around the yard for a long time, I finally put together this log trailer. It is the perfect size behind the subcompact tractor, but wide enough to still pull behind a truck (once it gets lights). The axle is rated for 3500 lbs, and with the trailer fully loaded it feels like 3500 lbs (based a 1 yard capacity trailer I pull with dirt/gravel at times). The blue portion of the frame is 8' long and can fit logs as long as 18', but I usually keep them around 12' or so. If they are large diameter, they're definitely shorter because the tractor is very limited in its lift capacity. That is also why the stakes can drop down lower so I can still use it for sawlogs that I cannot lift over the stakes as shown. If they're really big, then I use the log arch.
