Creating a lemon battery is a common project in many science text books. Successfully creating one of these battery is not easy. This video demonstrates how to construct a working lemon battery, test its voltage using a voltage meter and use it to light an LED bulb. This is a funny electronic project for you and your child. It can also be a good school science project for school level exhibitions.

To do this easy science experiment with lemon, you will need below materials:

1. Six lemons
2. A voltage meter (for testing purposes only),
3. 6 pieces of carbon rods from old AA batteries or you can also use copper wire instead
4. 6 zinc plates from old AA batteries
5. An LED light (for testing purposes).

In this experiment, each lemon produces about 1.4 volt of voltage at a short-circuit current of 3 mA. This is just suitable for powering low-voltage home-made products, watches, LEDs etc..
