Jätkäsaari is a modern, densely built, seaside district in southwestern Helsinki. It used to be a major cargo harbor, but over the past decade it has transformed into one of the city’s largest urban development projects.

A neighborhood in the Länsisatama (West Harbour) area of Helsinki’s inner city.
Originally a group of small islands (Jätkäsaari, Hietasaari, Saukko and a few islets) that were later connected through land reclamation.
Known for its urban, compact city blocks, tram connections, and strong maritime atmosphere.
