Approaching the finish line for Project Iona. Part 14 focuses on the removal of the rear bumper, rear bumper chrome trim, as well as some hidden places for every W140 owner to check for rust! Following some tips and tricks from my local body shop and automotive paint store we spend days and days cleaning, prepping, and painting the rear bumper. A fresh polished set of trim really sets off the new paint as both come back together prior to reinstall on Project Iona.
No new parts were used for Part 14, however here are the extensive supplies used for rust prevention and paint:
3M Scotch Blue Pre-Taped Painter's Plastic
3M Scotch Blue #2090 1" and 2" Painter's Tape
3M Sandblaster Pro 400 grit sandpaper
3M Imperial Wetordry 600 and 800 grit sandpaper
Klean-Strip Prep-All (one can)
Surgical Blue Super TacRags (four packs)
Rust-Oleum Rust Reformer Flat Black Spray Paint (one can)
Transtar 4603 2in1 Primer Gray (one can)
